The worst trip ever was when my husband and I went to his hometown back east to visit his family and friends and a couple of people there treated me like shit. I was stuck in their homes and felt like a prisoner. Our long, planned trip was totally ruined. Granted I let them have it, which felt good, but certainly a waste of time and money

Fast forward, those two people are all good with me now and we leave again tomorrow.

While COVID-19 poses a threat to travelers, everything related to communication, entertainment and travel has acquired cultural rather than entertainment value. There is an increasing focus on food quality and experimentation. Each trip has its own uniqueness. The joint science-loving team presents facts that show people a whole different world than they are used to seeing. Real and inspiring journeys. I hope the discoveries continue to amaze the world.

In reply to <a href="https://grrrltraveler.com/panchan-korean-side-dishes/comment-page-1/#comment-5978">Christine Ka'aloa</a>.

Korean food is pretty spicy, but just like most all cuisine, it depends what you're eating. There are lots of dishes and panchan that are generally supposed to be spicy, but you can get non-spicy varieties sometimes (my grandmother often makes nabak-kimchi a.k.a. water kimchi, which I've found less spicy than regular kimchi). Some dishes like galbi-tang a.k.a. beef rib soup is a soft and warm soup with subtle homely flavor. It all depends on what you get, but don't be surprised if an aversion to spice keeps you from eating a lot of Korean foods.
