@Izzy: Count it as a blessing that you’ve had positive experiences. You must be a street smart traveler. That tour amazed me too and it did spoil me– cheap, good and quality!

@Ekua: Yeah, it’s one of those. But Korea has prepared me. I have one of those in my apt and I’ll tell you….it takes a while to get the hang of. Just the other day, I forgot to change it back from shower to sink mode and sprayed myself before going to work.

@Laura: Believe me, rooms like that can go for a lot less than $20! But there was just so much theft happening that week I was there. Those were the travelers I met, but there were a couple of cases tangential to that. I was pretty surprised I got thru it w/o getting robbed of something.

Sorry to hear about all the stealing. At least the hotel handled things well.

@chance: The photo lies, I tell you!!! Lies! … about the room that is. Ha ha. Somehow I find toilets and rooms look remarkably better than they are when photographed. I guess it’s cause you can’t capture the shock, the smells, the brooding environments… BTW- perhaps your room was once a mental institute… hmmm?
