Thanks for the recommendation Jay! And I appreciate your support too!

I googled them after you mentioned it the first time. I usually go with Smile Society off Saladeng and they're around $10-11/dorm. Nice place, location & peeps. But my budget is scant this time.. I found a $7/nite place a little further out. I'll keep Ubaan on my list and see if I can't post a photo; you're covering my first night! I get in on the red eye and was considering sleeping in the airport to save money. But I have a morning appointment (and BKK airport doesn't have charging ports in the terminal). =D The hobo-ing begins..

I believe Joy has 20 beds, she even has a private room. I had some of the most awesome conversations, and met some of the best people I have ever known. Many of them will be friends of mine for life now. I can't wait to get back to Bangkok, and stay at Joy's again!

I highly recommend U-Baan Hostel, Christine! I loved that place, and have a lot of friends on my Facebook page that also stayed there and loved it too. It is pretty easy to find, in an authentic area of Bangkok, with food very close and Joy, the owner, is amazing. It might not be close to where you are getting your dental work done, but it is only about a 5 to 10 minute walk to the BTS, and you can get anywhere from the BTS. Even if you were to just stay there a few days to compare to other hostels you might stay in while you visit Bangkok. Also, it is very safe there! It's only about $8.00 a night if you stay seven days or more, in the three bed dorm, and the 5 bed dorm is even less.
