Yes, you definitely just have to relax and NOT FREAK OUT. Life almost always works itself out in one way or another. Especially when it comes to flights that are delayed etc. Even if you have to wait for a bit, your life is probably not going to be at stake.

In reply to Jen. @Jen: Mahalos Jen. I dunno about financially independent. I totally worked the hobo cheap, considering the expensive places I went to. Tried to stay within the $25-35/day range and that's including my guesthouse/hotel! The biggest splurges will be the plane tickets, but there's many ways to get by cheaply if you keep eyes open for it.

I really, really admire people like you, Christine, who can “wing it” and just go on a trip with minimal planning. The very idea of not having at least weeks, if not months, to plan a trip thoroughly makes me want to hyperventilate. 🙂 Great tips here.

I have no tips whatsoever, which is why I value these posts a lot. I’ve never planned an oversea (or mainland) trip within a short period of time. I don’t know if I’ll ever be financially independent for that. LOL
