Join the Worldette Party: Turn your travel dreams into a lifestyle & help others

In a perfect world, we wouldn’t encounter obstacles to live fully in our dreams. We wouldn’t feel crippled by fear, self-doubt or worry when it comes to taking that leap into self belief. And we would never utter the question — Can I? This month, I have the honor of being one of the ten travel experts at the 2013 Online Worldette Party! You don’t know how proud I am to be a part of this event, because this means, I get to share my imperfectly perfect solo and expat travel story with others, while offering you free access into an event that will offer inspirational interviews and more women, who will share how they turned their travel dreams into a lifestyle. Best of all — and I think this is the ultra-cool part– you’ll have the opportunity to help impoverished dreamers manifest their dreams too! No invisible strings attached. All you have to do is sign up!

What is Worldette?

Worldette is a travel website, which sends out simple, actionable and free emails dedicated to getting their readers out in the world. They are about being global, traveling (even if it means in your own backyard), giving back to the world, having fun, pushing boundaries, and pursuing dreams. It was created by expat Marie Teather, who spent 7 years in Japan only to return to London and realize that her old life no longer fit the global reality she had been living. She realized, she needed to create a space, where women could share, connect and keep their travel spirits alive. So she moved back abroad and Worldette was born.  Her story alone is an inspiration! What I love about this site is that while they inspire women to push forward (yes, with dreams, you have to push a little…), they also occasionally share  stories of women in challenging and impoverished situations, so as a global traveler, you’ll be better informed about ways you can be more socially-responsible and conscious of other cultures when you travel. Worldette takes you outside the normal travel bubble of vacation planning and Top 10’s and into thinking about travel on a broader scale. How rockstar is that?

Welcome to the Worldette Online Party 2013

The party is a six-day online celebration of being inspired to get  out into the world, freedom and international living. Each day, they’ll feature one of 10 inspirational audio interviews by female travel experts, who have turned their travel dreams into a reality. How can I travel more? Where should I start ?… These are just some questions you might find the right answers to in the course of five days but I’ll let Worldette founder, Marie Teather tell you about it below.

 Why join:

•  It’s free!

•  You’ll get access to interviews and articles which can inspire you to take steps closer to your dreams.

•  You’ll be helping empower impoverished folks across the globe, by giving them your support (and not a hand out).

Worldette will be partnering with Kiva to support women’s businesses around the world. They’ll be encouraging all attendees to take up the offer of a free KIVA loan.  Yes, you’ll get a free loan to offer to one of the thousands of Kiva projects, which assist people in micro-financing their dreams, such as building a house for a family or afford supplies for livelihood businesses, you name it. You can use it on a project Worldette is already helping fund or a project, which touches you.

I used my free KIVA loan to help 47 year old Nang, a mother of six adults, finance a bathroom in her family’s house. Their family runs a farming business. (woops! I got a little click-happy before seeing who Worldette wanted to sponsor with the free Kiva loan… which is a good project as well.)

It’s a win-win situation!

When does it start?

Soon!  The event starts on Sunday, September 20, 2013 and it runs until September 25, 2013.
