I’m travelling in Korea at the moment and came across your blog whilst looking for jimjilbang tips (which are really helpful – thank you SO much!) But this post in particular grabbed me because I rocked up at Gongju the night before last without having booked accommodation, and ended up in a love hotel. Well I have to say that if you’re after the real deal but don’t fancy splurging then believe it or not, you need to get yourself over to Gongju. For just W40,000 I got soft red lighting (both in the hallway and room itself), a giant flower pattern on the wall (romantic?! I don’t know!), red and gold velvet bedspread, and when the lady showed me how to use the TV, it switched straight on to a (rather soft-core) porno. It was completely brilliant. Oh, and er . . . noises fro next door which rather crowned the whole experience. Thankfully they didn’t last too long 😉 Anyway thanks for all of your posts, they’re really helpful! I’m going to Seoul today and I’ll be checking out Siloam Spa on your recommendation!

In reply to lailian. @Iailian: Yes it's walking distance. Actually, right next to the station or next to the bus lot, you should see a throng of motels. Savoy is amongst them. You can probably either ask or just find another one. There are some nice luxury looking ones in that area too. Just ask to check out the rooms beforehand. Good luck.
