I’ve only been to Egypt, but was planning on traveling the lower + eastern regions from Cape Town towards Kenya; unfortunately timing didn’t work out. Still on the bucket list.

Just read your travel survival guide- Africa-planning a trip…wanted to see how it compared to my trip to Egypt, Ethiopia,Kenya,Tanzania, in 2012. Very informative, lots of good info.
Took public bus, very good way to travel. Didn’t need visa before travel to Tanzania, got at the border, $50. US for me (Canadian), $100. for next passenger- from USA! Traveled beginning of June, it was great, every animal had off-spring! Hired a guide with a landrover in Arusha, Tanzania…it was amazing! 100s of photos.

December is summer season in South Africa, so it is not its cold season.
