The interview process is quite typical. But I sense the unfamiliarity and nerves, considering it is in Korea, which has a completely different culture.

Hi Chris! I love reading your blog. I feel like I am also in Korea, haha! Anyway, I have a question. English is not my native language. Are the application requirements different?

@Kathleen: I know applications for March term began around Nov/Dec-ish? I can't remember for the Fall term, but I know there are universities have already started recruiting for fall term. And while I'm at it,.. July is when (kids) summer camp programs start posting for July/Aug terms (although a few have already started as well). There's supposedly hiring seasons, but at the same, you'll find some unis wanting to prepare in advance. Sorry, wish I could be of better help.

Hi! Awesome article! I'm teaching in a Korean public school and it's nice but I've decided to not re-sign. I think going for a university job sounds exciting! I heard that the start of the school year (March) is the time where schools are looking for more applicants than for the fall (mid-way through) semester. I'm just wondering if you know if that's true?

@Andrew: Thanks. Happiness in life is important and this is probably my problem most of the time. I have a bad habit of always foregoing the money! Will have to find a way to get both! ;-)

Just a quick FYI. I happen to glance through your comments and noticed someone mentioned the like buttons were in the way. I am using Firefox and it is happening to me as well. In other news, it sounds like you've got some BIG decisions a head of you. Good luck with what ever you choose. Korea is such a wonderful learning environment. My second year abroad wasn't nearly as pleasant as my first, with a lot less travel involved, but I learned so much. That alone made it a worthwile venture. -Chance

@JOyu: Hmmm... At menu is supposed to shift according to size of the viewer's browser. I'm on Firefox & Safari so I'm not seeing that problem. But I also have my browser opened to at least 800px; if it's opened half that size, the menu will shift accordingly to cover the text. I'll see if I can't check that out on Explorer which is what I'm assuming you're on. Anyone else having that problem?

I just want to say that the "hot" buttons for liking and tweeting on the left side get in the way of your text. Makes reading the posts very difficult. Not sure if there is something I can do or u?
