 I am Christine Kaaloa. I am looking to expand my GRRRLTRAVELER creative team. Currently, no positions entail travel unless you are a strong photographer/videographer, but I always have my eye out for creative talent which goes that extra distance and has the ability to tweak something in order to improve it.

As a content creator (blogger, YouTuber and influencer), I work in a dynamic environment, where ideas get old quickly if you don’t jump on them. The successful candidate will be working directly with me.

Seeking Part-Time Community Manager

GRRRLTRAVELER is a female solo travel brand specializing in the travel industry, travel blogging and solo filming for YouTube, and creating content for destinations and companies around the world. We are seeking a qualified community manager (or social media assistant) who is passionate about all things travel and helping female solo travel brands grow online. The candidate will assist in all social media, blog and email marketing efforts.

Candidate must have previous work experience working with major social media platforms (Instagram/Stories, Facebook, Pinterest, Tik Tok), have a strong understanding of social media strategy, excellent writing skills, extreme attention to detail and work well in a fast-paced environment.

Candidate will work to increase follower engagement, grow brand awareness, and drive traffic to our promotions. The ideal candidate will have a strong creative mind with a passion for beautiful images, writing compelling copy and visual storytelling combined with demonstrated marketing savvy for developing meaningful growth and engagement strategies across social media platforms.

Who You Are

Live and breathe all things travel, but enjoy the challenges of marketing and social media strategy
Strong creative mind (writing, photography, storytelling)
A rockstar brain for marketing and business strategy
Minimum: 1-year of experience as a Social Media Manager for other brands or businesses
Proficient in Canva, Google drive, and social media scheduling platforms
Comfortable navigating in Airtable (or an Excel-type document) for database duties.
Self-starter while also being a team player
Keep up with social media trends and strategies
Able to manage and complete multiple projects from concept to completion on time
Able to switch gears, hats, and roll with the punches in a fluid industry.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including grammar and punctuation)
Strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to give/receive feedback is key
Pay strong attention to detail

 

What you will do

Schedule posts on all social media accounts in a timely manner
Occasional content planning sessions with Christine & draft content calendar
Curate, resize, edit all images to post on social media
Format and proof-read all content, social media copy and blog posts before publishing
Creates and schedules newsletters with product suggestions for content
Update/Manage a weekly, monthly, and quarterly social media and digital content calendar on Airtable
Assist with developing and implementing organized online filing systems
Offer feedback and troubleshooting strategies
Aid design process using Canva work templates

Additional skills (preferred):

Working knowledge of Airtable, WordPress, SEO, and affiliate linking
Able to write copy for email newsletters and social media posts that align with our brand’s tone
Perform research for blog topics including keyword research for SEO
Draft blog posts, update affiliate partner links and upload photos onto website
Promote company blog posts and comment on designated blog posts
Create Pinterest graphics from working templates

What You Need To Know

This is a PAID part-time, remote position
Will start with 5 to 20 hours a month, as we both learn to work with each other. Hours will grow, based on available work and ability to execute rolling task responsibilities
Compensation will be discussed during the interview and will be based on experience

Intern

Looking for creative intern(s) for GRRRLTRAVELER, a travel blog and YouTube influencer brand. Position is ideal for those who have ever wondered how influencers grow, manage, monetize their audiences and platforms. I’m looking for interns that can help take GRRRLTRAVELER to the next level of travel influencing and can blow away my audiences! This is in exchange for university credit, so you must be able to get school credit for this internship/mentorship.

The ideal candidate is responsible, can multitask, take creative initiative and is passionate about finding new ways to engage audiences on YouTube and digital/social media. Good work ethic and attitude are super vital to me. I’m hoping this will become a full time position in the future. 

I love idea people and creative problem solvers, who are continually looking for better ways to manage /execute ideas more efficiently.  While this is an internship position, you will be treated as a content creator and decision-maker, assisting GRRRLTRAVELER in influencing and expanding its audience of travelers. Also, there may be times we will work/communicate remotely.

Digital Media- Blog/Marketing Intern:

This is a fast-moving business and priorities can change daily.  This role requires the candidate to be flexible to switch tasks based on the priorities of the business needs. This position deals with light editing, assisting and organizing blog and social media editorial and design. It may involve brainstorming creative approaches and executing marketing strategies to grow audience, exposure and maintain value for travel audiences. This is more of a blogger/marketing position, but may roll over into some of the video tasks below.

Responsibilities:

As the content schedule is continually changing to keep up with audiences. Listed are some responsibilities candidate will be working with, but flexibility is key.

— Social media scheduling and refining brand strategy (i.e. Instagram Stories/IG/Facebook)

– Create pins for Pinterest and thumbnail covers (on blog, YouTube, Instagram Stories)

– Assistant edit blog posts and add affiliate links in posts via WordPress.

– Draft pitch emails and newsletters

– Manage/organize databases of videos, social media calendar, sponsors, tasks.

– Assist with brainstorming branding and marketing for several platforms, FB groups, etc… to generate exposure for the piece.

– Be able to create and organize their own work system to make tasks efficient.

– Participate in company networking or professional events where available.

Seeking:

  • A fast learner, self-starter, resourceful and can find answers to basic questions on own.
  • Organized with attention to detail. Know how to manage juggling multiple pieces to keep projects fluid and on track.
  • Takes initiative and be able to come up with creative ideas on ways to improve the work and brand design at hand.
  • Good work discipline: Driving focus to complete tasks promptly but with care.
  • Experience with WordPress, Canva preferred.
  • Great photographic eye for YouTube and Instagram storytelling ( and occasional willingness to be on camera).
  • Ideally based in Hawaiian Islands or Asia. But other locations will be considered as this job can be done remotely
  • Able to commit to a minimum of 3 months .

Coordinating Producer

Responsible for helping with coordinating travel schedule, researching content and film itineraries. Paid stipend per project.

  • Research great ideas and places to film
  • Coordinate travel itinerary and shoot schedule against budget.
  • Research and pItch collaborations and coordinate with local YouTube creators and fixers (co-hosts) for episodes.
  • Coordinate and acquire locations permit and talent contracts before Christine arrives.
  • Write pitch letters for DMO assistance, sponsorship and paid video marketing
  • Contact and coordinate with hotels and activities
  • Ensure the schedule runs smoothly and according to budget.
  • Fine-tune research to unique content/story ideas to produce on location.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year experience as a Coordinating Producer on a reality show, production, commercial, film

• Experience writing pitch letters

• Experience with locking location agreements and talent contracts.

• Able to work remotely and update schedules via Google drive and Airtable.

• Ability jump on calls and do in-person Zoom meetings with Christine

• Strong communication skills

• Team player with the ability to work independently.

Video Media Marketing /Editing Intern

I’m looking for interns that can help take GRRRLTRAVELER to the next level of travel influencing and can blow away my audiences! But not many people know how much work influencing is and can be.

The ideal candidate is responsible, can multitask, take creative initiative and is passionate about finding new ways to engage audiences on YouTube and digital/social media. Good work ethic and attitude are super vital to me. I’ve held several production assistant jobs working in video and television production. I knew my time and contribution was important to the work and I could easily be replaced by someone more hungry than me,  so I took initiative a lot to become an indispensable team player.   I’ve had great mentors, so now I’m looking to giving back by trading my experience and knowledge for the the right ingenue and go-getter talent. I’m hoping this will become a full time position in the future. That is one of the goals GRRRLTRAVELER is striving for.

I love idea people, who are continually looking for better ways to manage and execute ideas. I love self-starters who can take initiative to creative problem solving independently. This is an internship position, but you will be treated as a content creator and decision maker, assisting GRRRLTRAVELER in influencing and expanding its audience of travelers. This will only accelerate your learning and you’ll be learning all my techniques and tricks for YouTube. You will be involved in the creative brainstorming process. You must be able to work/communicate remotely.

Video/ Editing Intern:

Ideally, I’m looking for someone with passion and experience in video production and editing. You must have a working knowledge of social media and YouTube vlog storytelling and a basic to intermediate skill of working on Premiere Pro. You must have watched a lot of YouTube videos and dissected them.  I will train you to be a strong video storyteller for YouTube and video marketing.

Responsibilities:

–  A passion for storytelling and YouTube techniques to make the story more engaging and binge-worthy

– Load and clean footage and arrange in timeline. Clean hosting footage and create a rough draft.

-Social videos- taking a YouTube video and repurposing for Facebook and IGTV.  Add logos, trim end, and export.

Seeking:

  • A fast learner, resourceful and takes initiative to find answers to basic questions on own.
  • Organized with attention to detail. Know how to manage juggling multiple pieces to keep projects fluid and on track.
  • Takes initiative and be able to come up with creative ideas on ways to improve the work and brand design at hand.
  •  Basic Experience with Premiere Pro
  • Strong eye for design and YouTube/Instagram storytelling
  • Occasional willingness to be on camera (if needed)
  • Ideally based in Hawaiian Islands or Asia. But other locations will be considered as this job can be done remotely
  • Able to commit to a minimum of 6 months .
  • New: Due to coronavirus, you will need to have a laptop running a base of Premiere Pro.

We are considering producers for GRRRLTRAVELER travel assignments and press trips in the future. This is for an experienced travel blogger / photographer/videographer who understands GRRRLTRAVELER brand storytelling for blog posts and daily social media content . Gathers footage and trip information and writes/posts deliverables.
