As a multi-ethnic cultural pot, Hawaii has a popular noodle and comfort dish similar to ramen (Japan), ramyeon (Korea) and pancit (Phillippines), etc…
We call this dish… saimin.
One of the best places to eat saimin is a popular (and one of the few remaining) “mom-n-pop restaurants” on the island called Shiro’s Saimin Haven (aka “Shiros”). They’ve got over 64 types of saimin to suit every tastebud, making it one of the best places to eat saimin.
Watch as I go on my saimin date, see why Asian moms are good at being Asian and bucketlist this for your next trip to Hawaii!
