Calling all travel shoppers! Get ready to pack your virtual bags because Amazon Prime Day is just around the corner! Think luggage deals to upgrade your travel style, noise-canceling headphones for a peaceful journey, or portable chargers to keep your devices juiced up on the go.
UPDATE: This list is updated with reader picks too! Readers have been finding awesome deals too so I thought I’d share!
What is Amazon Prime Day 2024?
Amazon Prime Day is an exclusive two-day sale event from July 16th-17th, 2024 and it offers massive discounts for Prime members. Travelers can score amazing deals on everything you need for your next adventure.
As a traveler and content creator, I rely on Amazon for pretty much all my travel gear. From must-have travel accessories, luggage, camera and electronics to comfy adventure clothes, even the occasional dog accessories (hey, Tinker has travel needs too!). Being a Prime member is a no-brainer for me!
Why You Want Prime Membership if you Travel
Whether you’re a seasoned adventurer or a first-time explorer, Amazon Prime membership offers a lot of savings to help you travel smarter and prepare for your upcoming trip and there’s always a sale going on!
Here’s what makes Prime Membership worthwhile for travelers:
- Free Shipping: Shipping costs can make online shopping a real turn-off. But Prime’s waived shipping costs makes shopping a no-brainer. I live in Hawaii, where shipping costs can really add up, but I don’t know how much until I get to checkout. With Prime, I can shop without worrying about packing on $10 shipping fees per item! This is by far my favorite part of being a Prime member.
- Fast and Easy Returns: Bought something that doesn’t fit quite right? No worries! Prime members enjoy hassle-free returns and exchanges. I adore this feature.
- Free ONE & TWO-DAY Shipping: If you’re a spontaneous traveler like me, Prime unlocks unlimited free one and two-day delivery on eligible items (sometimes you can get same day delivery!), which is a huge lifesaver for those last-minute trip preparations. Gone are the days, when I’d be nervous about whether my item would arrive before leaving on my trip!
- Exclusive Deals and Early Access: Prime members can score big discounts and early access to lightning deals during Prime Day and other exclusive sales events.
- Prime Video & Extra Features: Although I don’t feel the movies and TV shows on Prime Video is as good as Netflix, it is an added bonus for when I’ve drained my Netflix watch list. Prime Video has an original series and there are even more features that you can check out, but I’ll just leave it at that, because it is already a bundled lot.
- Share your membership with up to six family members: You can add two adults, four teens/ children making it a money-saver for the whole crew.
Thinking about joining the Prime family? Try the free 30-day trial, so you can experience all the benefits before committing.
How Amazon Prime Day works
Once you decide Prime membership is your travel jam, here’s a few steps you can take to make the most out of the sale. I’ve already done a lot of the leg-work for you:
- Sign up for your free 30-day trial of Amazon Prime before July 16th to take full advantage of the early sales and see if the Prime membership is a good fit for you long-term.
- Download the Amazon App to your phone or tablet. Having the app on your mobile device is soooo handy for quick browsing, deal hunting, and one-click purchases on the go.
- Check out the list of 60 Prime Day travel deals I found (below) and save this post! Some items are huge discounted savings and may even entail additional discounts.
- Create a Watchlist (or wishlist) so you can track the items you’re interested in. Then, add any travel essentials you’re interested in to your Watchlist.
- Check out Prime Day deals and Today’s Deals .
- Track Deals with Alexa, your Amazon Assistant. Alexa is a helpful virtual assistant that you can use as your Prime Day partner in crime. Schedule notifications with Alexa to be alerted when deals go live from your Watchlist. You can even tell Alexa to “buy it for me” for items on your Watchlist during the sale. Activate Alexa by downloading the Free Alexa mobile app, speaking to your Alexa Echo Dot (I have a couple of these around the house) or speaking into your Amazon Fire TV stick & remote.
Remember, some of items are limited time, limited supply and can get sold out quickly. If there’s essential items you know you need, get a jump on them as soon as possible.
Unlock your travel savings with a Prime membership today!
