Portfolio & Case Studies
“Adventure, independent, unique, quirky, culturally insightful, authentic, cruelty-free, responsible tourism. I want my audiences to be inspired, entertained and informed of travel options I’d recommend. I strive to create unique content, translating a commodity into a memorable experience.” – Christine
We work with brands, which align with the core values of responsible and ethical adventures of GRRRLTRAVELER. Knowing we may influence audience decisions, we do our due diligence of research before working with a brand. We like to be at the front-of-the line, working with brands which provide a unique, innovative, quality-driven and outstanding experience. We want to give our audiences great trip ideas and we to give you the credit.
We review destinations, hotels, attractions and services/products, promoting brands via standard reviews, featured listicles or by incorporating them into our travels of a destination.
UGH another “influencer”… or is it UGH, another “sponsor”?
These days, the term influencer is abused. You might feel like everyone on social media and their grandma wants a free hand out. We get that. And our end, would you believe a lot of “sponsors” want the same. In fact, we even got offered a payment of a bottle of jam for our time and labor. One bottle of jam to share on our social media account as if it were God’s gift in virtual jam to our audiences. We get these requests often. This was in exchange for photos, promotion to our audiences, creative labor. Some sponsors treat you like a craigslist influencer. We don’t work with those and if you are one of those type of sponsors and we approached you, please decline. We have rent to pay.
In days of yore, you hired a freelance photographer or videographer by a day rate ($500-$2000) to film a product/service, you offered your service for their shoot and they handed you off a product to which you’d ultimately have to find an audience for in advertising. At least, this is Christine’s career experience.
The truth is, we don’t see any work we do on our end as FREE. It costs us valuable freelance time, equipment maintenance; it’s work. Sometimes, we’re happy to partner in exchange and sometimes, not so. It has to be equal in value to our service and we select partners based on what we feel will provide a good experience for our audiences in content.

Viewer Comments on India Travel
India is one of my favorite countries. It’s truly extraordinary, unique, vibrant and energetic; perfect for the adventurous (female) solo travelers. Unfortunately, there’s been some negative international media about it and culturally, it can feel challenging and dizzying to a foreign traveler. While travelers feel curious about it, many are not sure if they can tackle the country… especially solo. When I started vlogging India on YouTube, I filmed myself traveling it to change the dynamic and impressions….
