SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD #SpeedUptheFlow

 

SanDisk released an incredibly durable, fast and state of the art technology in the ultra compact SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD. Our job was to share this SSD to our audiences by sharing fun test drives we could perform with it as well as share how Christine works as a solo travel content creator.  It wasn’t difficult to convince us of the SSD’s capability- as video creators we know the pros and cons of external storage and own a lot of backup storage hard drives. Christine also takes two drives on the road, which adds to our gear weight.

Concept:  We chose to talk about Christine’s creative process as a solo content creator and traveler.  We filmed in two countries of extreme range, aligning the SSD with ideas of rugged endurance, speed, compact/lightweight solutions and navigating the ever-changing demands of solo filming on the road.

Deliverables: The campaign engaged all platforms : blog, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook. We did fun Instagram Story test drives trekking in Nepal and delivered a blog review , sharing it with our newsletter audiences. We also threw in product integrations showing SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD usage to string in story continuity.
We estimated:
Social media garnered 32,000+ impressions,. 7,300+ total engagement.
YouTube’s main video + 3 videos integrations : 82,000+ views

Mazda Expedition to the Arctic Ocean #CXArcticDrive 

We were invited to participate in a five day once-in-a-lifetime drive expedition to the Arctic Ocean, driving Mazda’s CX-3, CX-5 & CX-9 vehicles.

Concept: Inspired by the Mazda tagline “Feel Alive”, we took that into our solo travel brand as embracing the challenges and adventures that the Arctic road trip brings  in Unknown. While pulling out teaser highlights to build the journey’s dramatic surprises and cinematic beauty, we also highlighted the ease, rugged durability, and comfort of driving Mazda’s CX vehicles in an extreme and dramatically changing environments… Our silent message-  take the wheel and be in charge of your own adventure.

We created daily social stories to get our audiences excited about the CXArcticDrive campaign and concluded with one video shared on all our social platforms. This gained over 102,000+ growing views/impressions ; our video content is created to be evergreen for trip research and searches.

Given we create travel guides to aid trip planning and Mazda designed a once-in-a-lifetime bucket list route, we treated our end goal, the town of  Tuktoyaktuk with destination coverage and created a 3-part video series specifically for our channel, blog and its travel audiences.  We featured Mazda vehicles throughout the documentary and expedition drivers’ tips on winter driving. We optimized our video series with competitive but highly ranked key searches for future growth and evergreen discoverability. Note: This was not a deliverable we quoted to Mazda, but something extra we like to give our audiences who followed our journey.

Majority of YouTube views on Campaign video: U.S., Canada,  UK, 18-34 range and secondly 35-54 range, some commenters came from carowners who lived in Canada and were interested in the drive or had undertaken part of it.

Destination Campaigns

We travelers are smart consumers~ we seek honest reviews, word-of-mouth opinions and experiential insight into what our dollar will buy us ! Video is an immersive experience allowing audiences to make stronger trip planning decisions.  It hooks fans into the ride, so they connect to Christine and her journey. As the curiosity with solo travel is on a heightened growth,  we’ve noticed stronger conversions with destinations and products we use in our videos.

Not only do we convert travelers, but larger YouTube personalities researching for their own travel series.

Nepal Tourism Campaign | Himalayan Travel Mart 2018 & 2017

We have worked with Nepal Tourism Board and PATA Nepal on two campaigns, with our first campaign landing us the Best Blogger of the Himalayan Travel Mart.  We are proud of our work with Nepal on the whole.  We created a series of destination videos and blogs, but our best work are our YouTube videos (view counts range from 18K to 600K ).  After the 2015 earthquake, Nepal has worked to recover tourism. As a female solo traveler, we covered destinations, which showed ruin but also the places that were perfectly in tact. We also went a step further to research ways to interact and share more local culture, as well as promote food tourism through food videos (something Nepal has been lacking coverage in).  Click for case study⬅️⬅️

This was filmed circa 2013 but in 2018 we shared our full video on Facebook gaining 500K views ;  the destination was further promoted by Facebook gaining over 700K views and crazy amounts of engagement citing the beauty of the destination and the hopes for trip planning.

Christine has experience producing/creating videos for in-house hotel TV channels (i.e. Hilton Waikaloa, etc…) and has filmed/produced/worked on lifestyle shows like MTV’s My Super Sweet 16 to HGTV’s House Hunters. She offers consultation to creates vlogs/reviews for GRRRLTRAVELER. It’s a superior luxury safari adventure that can move y0u to tears- let’s start at your hotel guest pickup… Featured hotel videos don’t always have a strong audience unless the experience is over the top!  This  Nepal hotel video got 68K+ views and booking mentions/interest within the first year of posting (while we didn’t target a specific audience, we discovered the biggest interest was in the Indian travel market)
